MT7A7452-2-1024x683

Reflect Clinic are always looking to provide our patients with the best aftercare. This guide will explain all about our wound care system – Pico dressings.

Our patient aftercare ensures our patients are well looked after because they see the same faces who provide the expert care throughout their cosmetic surgery in Manchester journey.

This latest blog will explain everything you need to know about the Pico wound care system.

Adelina Answers Your Questions

Take a look at our video below from our Nurse Adelina for more information on how the device works during YOUR aftercare.

Pico Dressing

The PICO 7 system revolutionises wound care by offering Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT).

This advanced method effectively draws out excess fluid from the wound, while applying a compressive force, thereby protecting the injury from contamination and significantly enhancing the healing process.

The system is ingeniously designed with a NPWT pump that connects to an absorbent, gentle adhesive dressing, ensuring both efficacy of healing and patient comfort.

At the forefront of the pump’s design is a single push button accompanied by four LEDs. These features provide intuitive visual feedback on the system’s status, allowing for easy monitoring.

The PICO 7 pump is designed for your convenience, allowing you to carry it in your pocket or attach it to your belt, depending on what feels most comfortable and suitable, considering the wound’s size and location.

It’s important to keep the pump within easy reach for both you and your nurse or doctor to easily monitor its status regularly.

The PICO pumps are equipped with a magnet so it is crucial to maintain a distance of at least 4 inches (10 cm) from any other medical devices at all times.

Similarly to all electrical medical equipment, not keeping this safe distance may interfere with the functionality of any nearby medical devices.

Taking a light shower is allowed, but first, disconnect the pump and place it in a dry, safe spot away from any moisture. While the pump is disconnected, avoid exposing the dressing to direct water sprays or submerging it in water.

Ensure the tubing end attached to the dressing points downwards, preventing water from entering.
