1 Why are you having a Breast Augmentation?

The reason I wanted a boob job was because after 4 pregnancies and breastfeeding 4 babies my breasts had changed a lot!! I lost confidence in terms of body image and didn’t feel in proportion with the rest of my figure.

2 What research did you do prior to booking?

In terms of research before the breast enlargement, I went on lots of different websites and did quite a lot of reading. I also spoke to friends and family who had been through the procedure so I could get a good idea of the pros and cons and the recovery process etc.

Everyone I spoke to was really happy with the results and said that I would be pleased with the outcome. I also had a consultation with Mr Lambe who answered all the questions I had and put my mind at ease about any concerns.

3 How did you feel after booking your consultation with Jayne?

After speaking to Jayne (who was lovely by the way!) I felt really confident about going forward with my breast enlargement operation. She was able to answer all the questions I had and said I could contact her at any time should I think of anything else. She was always available when I phoned and was really helpful.

4 What questions did you have at your consultation?

My questions were mainly around having a general anaesthetic, as I hadn’t had one since I was 2!! I was reassured that anaesthetic has changed so much over the years so it is a lot less risky than it once was,  I was also interested to know what the recovery timescales would look like so that I could plan ahead for my family and after care. The other question I had was about choosing the right size breast implants for my body and how big I should go.

5 How did you feel after your consultation?

After the consultation, I felt so much more at ease about having my breast augmentation done. Although I knew I was going to have surgery, I wasn’t worried about it and couldn’t wait to get booked in!

6 Any tips for anyone thinking about having it?

I would definitely go ahead and get it done! It really helped talking to other people who had been through it and having my one to one consultation. Just make sure you have a couple of weeks after the surgery to fully recover. I needed people to help with shopping and leaning etc for a week or 2 afterwards.

7 How was your recovery? What did you expect and how was it different?

Recovery was not too bad. The first couple of weeks were a bit painful but I took 2 paracetamol regularly to manage any pain and discomfort. I think the hardest thing was having to sleep on my back for about 3 weeks. I did get used to it, but it was quite hard to get a good night’s sleep for the first week. I expected to be in a lot more pain, however, it was not as bad as I thought and I managed to get back to a normal routine pretty quickly.

8 How was your aftercare experience? What really helped?

Aftercare was brilliant!  Mr Lambe was always available if I needed to contact him and he kept in contact on a regular basis to see how I was feeling.

9 What did you think of the results of your breast enlargement?

I was over the moon with the results. My breast implants looked really natural and the results were in keeping with the rest of my body. The scars are hidden under the fold of my breasts, so they can’t be seen at all which is great!

10 How has cosmetic surgery changed your life?

I feel a lot more confident about the way I look in and out of clothes. It’s been really nice to go underwear shopping and know that bras will fit properly. Where I felt really self-conscious about doing certain activities such as swimming etc I now look forward to these things and can’t wait to go to the beach next summer!!
