Wow, here we are in the first week back after the holidays and a happy new year 2021 to you! What a year 2020 was!?! So glad that it’s over in some respects. In other respects we have been lucky in that we are alive, we are safe and we are well.
Many mothers continue to contact us regarding mummy makeover surgery and also about reducing the skin around their tummies, typically after pregnancy and childbirth where the skin and muscles are stretched over the 9 month incubation period. This issue sometimes extends to women’s breasts too, after breastfeeding. Other women feel they need to reduce the skin around their middle after losing a lot of weight, the fat may have gone but the fact that the body has been so stretched in the past means that the skin around the stomach remains after the weight loss, sometimes leaving a flap of skin hanging over the top of their underwear and this is what patients seek to improve and reduce.
What is a Tummy Tuck?
This operation involves removing the skin and fat below the tummy button. At the same time, the muscles beneath the tissue can be also be tightened up.
This procedure can be combined with breast surgery for a mummy makeover and can be performed on ladies after they have completed their family and are maintaining their weight.
Results to expect after a Tummy Tuck
You should have a much flatter and more toned looking stomach area with a neat scar in the tummy button and a longer scar low down stretching from hip to hip. However, this is carefully positioned below your knicker line so that it is hidden behind your swimming costume and underwear.

Wow!I was made to feel at ease straight away. The procedures were fully explained to me including the risks. Surgery took place at Spire Cheshire four weeks ago, the staff there were fantastic, I felt as if I was in a hotel not a hospital.
