Your Wellbeing in Cheshire

We like to look ahead to the new trends and wellbeing is a key trend especially after Covid-19 and lockdown which has allowed us all to rethink, rebalance and prioritise our lifestyles to pursue a more healthy balance.

To find out more about women’s health, happiness and wellbeing, we took a trip to Stock Farm Barn in Hale, Cheshire, organised by Joanna Scott-Aspray.

The event was opened by marvellous Melissa Porter, who is a TV presenter, Writer of Mastering the Single Parent Game, Mother, Transformational Life Coach, Columnist in Cheshire Life and Property Developer. Phew!

If you would like to take part in her new show which focusses on Relationship Challenges, Family Conundrums, Toxic Exes, Fear of Failure or Body Image Challenges, you can contact her direct on Instagram @realandroarmelissaporter

We really looked forward to a talk by our friend Kate, The Soulful Stylist who wowwed us with her insight into the psychology of colour.

Wellbeing Supplements

Firstly I bumped into Dr Sam who was launching a range of new health supplements as part of the Oxford Natural Clinic brand, with her partner Dr Andre and sponsored the wellness barn.

They also have an aesthetics clinic in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

Dr Andre did a talk on menopausal supplements and your health and provided us with info on the new product as well as a super sports bottle (that I will keep for myself!) and a natural cotton bag which will come in handy on the beach!

Dr Sam and I carefully co-ordinated on the day (not really, it was pure luck! lol ;))

The packed day of activities attracted over 250 revellers and 35 retailers.

The other businesses offered wellbeing, holistic, style and beauty sessions, as well as  workshops and interesting insight from doctors and experts in the mental, happiness and health arena, so I listened carefully and wrote notes on their talks (am such a swat!) so I could re-read them later and tick any of the To Do boxes I had randomly remembered I had to do!

Butterfly Breast Cancer Awards

As a favour to my friend Sarah E Pickles of the Butterfly Breast Cancer Awards, I helped to spread the word of this fabulous female charity by wearing butterfly wings she had kindly brought as well as providing a little sparkle by doing my makeup in Reflect colours.

Sarah has suffered twice from breast cancer and was told that she would probably not be able to have children after her treatment, but thankfully she was blessed with two further children. She also wrote a book about her journey so that she could help and support any other women who were on the breast cancer journey.

The charity is to be held at the stunning 13th century Vale Royal Abbey on Friday 20th September 2024 so if you can help with any sponsorship or would like to attend the splendid event, then please do contact her here.

The night will certainly be one to remember and if you or any of your friends or family have been affected by breast cancer then they will certainly receive lots of support and sound advice from the other attendees who have been personally affected by this horrible disease.

You could even win one of the perfect prizes at the charity prize draw!

One thing is for sure – it will surely be sprinkled with butterfly wings!

Healthy Lifestyles

There were lots of unique and interesting items for sale including a range of beautiful fans from Fandango (which I couldn’t resist and later premiered at the Britfest event). These are unique nd stylish and perfect for holidays or if you are going through the peri-menopause or full on menopause to help keep you cool!

I also met Vicky from Tropic Skincare who showcased their new and mini products which are perfect for holidays.

The event was supported by BeeU Anti Bullying Campaign and tirelessly give time to provide invaluable work towards stopping bullying, help to prevent and control it and also counselling.

Founder, Rachel Stevens said “I am so grateful to The Cheshire Club for highlighting our much needed cause for mental health support through this incredible event UFEST and to Dean Douglas, from Dean Douglas Art for helping us raise money by organising an online painting session and auction”.

If you know anyone who may be suffering from bullies, more details can be found here.

The lineup of speakers included Kerry Daynes, TV star of Faking it and best-selling author, along with experts Pam Shanker and Ruth Tansey, covering topics such as toxicity, coaching and gut health. Other speakers included Menopause Expert, Dr Bev Matta, Alison Blackler from 2Minds, with Dr Antonia Kirkby who hosted a workshop on the Psychology of our habits.

We were lucky enough to do a meditation and bumped into Dan The Eyewear Stylist.

Goodbye from Cheshire!

We couldn’t go without giving a shout out to the lovely Laura Teare-Jones who gave us a talk which really resonated with the crowd, which was to champion women doing whatever they want to do and tackled Imposter Syndrome as it can sometimes get in the way of achieving your aspirations be it in work or life in general.

Her key messages were, instead of procrastinating, you should try to make progress over perfection and do a “Tada!” list instead of a “To Do” list so that you can list all the
(T) Things you have
(A) Achieved
(D) Done
(A) Actioned!

Thank you Laura for your wise words and lastly lets all try to be more compassionate towards our selves. Take care all!
